Live music with the Literary Tea and more at Lydia’s Café


Every Saturday night (and now additional evenings), Lydia’s Café, 7 Old Route 209, Stone Ridge, features something from 7-10 p.m., and other times, too. Upcoming performances include the Jazz Cats, with Steven Frieder on sax, Peter Tomlinson, keys, Bob Meyer, drums, and Mark Usvolk, bass, Saturday, Feb. 8; the Valentines prix fixe dinner, featuring jazz vocalist Patricia Dalton and John Esposito on piano, Friday, Feb. 14; the Guitar Masters Series, featuring Matt Fink and David Gilmore, with Jay Anderson on bass, performance and discussion after, Saturday, Feb. 15; Literary Tea, where five renown authors read stories of love in celebration of Valentine’s Day, featuring Laura Shaine Cunningham, Edwin Sanchez, Luc Sante, Nina Shengold (with David Smilow, who will perform Shengold’s story, “Love in Leningrad”) and Abigail Thomas, accompanied by an elegant, classic, English “cream” tea, $40 per person by reservation only, 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16; and the Vinnie Martucci Trio with Martucci on piano, Rich Syracuse, bass, and Jeff Siegel, drums, Saturday, Feb. 22.
