Posted

The Marbletown Seniors meet twice each month in the Community Center, 3564 Main St., Stone Ridge. On the first Friday of the month (April 6) at noon, there is a covered dish luncheon followed by the short business meeting. Bring a casserole to share or $3 donation. The third Friday of the month (March 16) at 1 p.m. features desserts and an activity or educational program. Members volunteer to bring dessert items. New members are always welcome. On Tuesday, April 17, the group travels to the Aqua Club, Plantsville, Connecticut, to see a tribute to the “Devine Miss M” (Bette Midler), starring Kathy Thompson. The $48 cost includes the show and lunch with the bus leaving at 8:30 a.m. And on Wednesday, May 30, all aboard for springtime in the Poconos. This event includes a guided tour of the Silk Mill, shopping, lunch at the Waterfront at Silver Birches and a train ride along the Lackawaxen River on the Stourbridge Line in Honesdale. Cost is $52. Bus departs at 8 a.m. For all trips, the bus leaves from the Marbletown Reformed Church, 3750 Route 209, Stone Ridge, where there is ample parking in the rear of the church. For more trip information and reservations, contact Sharon Letus, trip chairman, at 687-9162. Call Marbletown Seniors President Donna Lamerson at 687-0410 or Kathy Albert, membership chairperson, at 687-9527 for all other information.
